Amphenol Wire Pro 91-series
- this page is a stub
Wire Pro 91 is a series of miniature connectors for power and
audio applications, introduced by Amphenol before
World War II. It is available
in various pin-configurations and is used on vintage equipment, such
as microphones and batteries, but also on wartime military
and spy radio sets.
The connectors are available in various pin configurations, in
particular with 2, 3, 4 and 5 pins, as cable- and as chassis-mount
parts. The cable parts are available with long, short and mini barrels,
and may have a cable opening of varying diameter.
The dimensions of the most common types are shown in the diagrams below.
Note that the pins of the 2-pin version are different.

The 2-pin version of the 91-series is commonly used in combination with the
mini barrel. It has a tick (4 mm) and a thin (3 mm) pin, to prevent it from
being inserted the wrong way around.
The female chassis-mount part (91-MPM2S) is often
found on WWII spy radio sets, such as the British
Type A Mk. III (A3), where it is used for
headphones and/or morse key.

Female connector (socket): 91-MPF2x

This is the 4-pin variant of the 91-series. Note that the pin positions are not
symmetric, so that the plug can not be inserted the wrong way around. The image
on the right shows the pin order of the plug, when looking
at the pins.
Male connector (plug): 91-MPM4x
Female connector (socket): 91-MPF4x
