WJ-8711 is a DSP-based HF monitoring receiver for the
5 kHz to 30 MHz frequency range, introduced in 1991 by
Watkins-Johnson (W-J) in Gaithersburg (MD, USA).
It was in production until 1996, and was succeeded by the improved
WJ-8711A, which was in production until 2010.

The specifications of the WJ-8711 were very similar to its successor,
the WJ-8711A, which is basically an improved version of the WJ-8711.
