World War II - this page is a stub

World War II, or (The Second World War}, commonly abbreviated WWII or WW2, was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945, between two military alliences: the Allies and the Axis. It was the most widespread and arguably the most well-documented war in history. During the conflict, both sides made extensive use of hand ciphers and cipher machines to keep the contents of their communications confidential.
