USA NSA Phone HSM STE → ← KOV-14
The enhanced card offers a tamper-resistant reprogrammable
– NSA Type 1 –
cryptographic module, that is backward compatible with the
KOV-14 Fortezza card,
but adds new features, such as support for
SCIP,
Enhanced Firefly
and NSA's 21st century Key Management Initiative.
The card can perform Type 1 encryption and hash operations at 80 Mbits/s.
As of 2008, the older KOV-14 cards
were being phased out and replaced
by the KSV-21.
