UP-2007 is a handheld barcode reader, sold in the early 1990s by
Philips Crypto in Eindhoven (Netherlands).
The device is a rebatched
HBCR-8300, manufacturered by Hewlett Packard (HP) in the USA and sold
by Philips as an OEM product.
It was intended for loading 128-bit
cryptographic keys — printed as barcodes — into the contemporary
Philips UP-2001 & UP-2101 key fill devices.

The device is housed in a strong plastic enclosure in the shape of a
stylus. At the tip is a small lens behind which the optical instrument
is located. At the other end is a fixed coiled cable that terminates in
a moulded DE9/P connector.
