Pin-and-lug cipher machine - this page is a stub - wanted item

C-38 was a compact mechanical light-weight portable pin-and-lug cipher machine, developed shortly before World War II by Boris Hagelin and manufactured AB Cryptoteknik in Stockholm (Sweden). It is the successor of the C-36 and C-37 and features six rather than five pin-wheels. The C-38 can be seen as the civil version of the M-209, which was made in the US during WWII.

As the C-38 and M-209 are functionally identical, please refer to our page about the M-209.

WANTED ITEM — Crypto Museum are still looking for a C-38 for its collection. If you have one available or if you know of a machine that might be available, please contact us.
