PACMR-1
Programmable Audio Countermeasures Receiver - this page is a stub

PACMR-1 was a fully programmable Technical Surveillance and Countermeasures (TSCM) receiver, developed in the late 1980s by Mason Engineering Inc. in Fairfield (Connecticut, USA). The system can be seen as the predecessor of the later REI OSCOR range, and was supplied in three or four large Haliburton shipping cases. The system was mainly used by US law enforcement agencies.

Note: This page is currently under construction whilst we are awaiting additional information about the PACMR receiver.

The PACMR-1 was introduced in 1986 and was sold alongside the highly desirable MPR-5. With a price tag of US$ 80,000, compared to 'just' US$ 21,000 for the MPR-5, the PACMR-1 was outside the reach of most customers [2]. Eventually, only 50 units were ever produced and sold [3].
